' Keep | Dripps ' explores a break-up through contrasting highs and lows, denials and unavoidable truths. Opening track ' Keep ' celebrates initial relief found in the realization of no longer needing to hold onto something which once seemed so important. It’s an anthem of independence, with an optimistic musical tone which meshes alternative guitar feels with pulsing, sunshiney drum-and-bass. Dripps, on the other hand, is a song about coming to terms with the darkness and loneliness one can feel on a journey without a partner and the familiar comfort of love. It embodies feelings that were overlooked, or perhaps intentionally avoided in the celebratory Keep, which inevitably find their way into the character’s mind, portrayed in the lyrics by J.A. Grimms. The music seems to drop to lo-fi in the latter track Dripps, leaving listeners with an image of the character left in thought, watching the rain.
